Immigration Marriage Fraud

This is my story, my family’s story.

In January of 2010, my uncle was found dead in a closed down restaurant in Renton, WA  I know this is not about other types of crimes, so I will do my best to keep it on the marriage fraud portion.  I was very close to my uncle and at the time of his death he was a single 50 year old man, so I thought.  A woman came forward and said she had married my uncle in NY city 7 months prior to his death.  It took me and my family by surprised that my uncle was married but did not tell anybody.   At first we took the womans word for it, until we learned of her age, and she had only been in the country for 7 months also, the same amount of time they were married for.  The woman’s age was 22 or 23 at the time of the marriage, and she couldn’t produce a valid marriage certificate or one that looked real.  We learned that my uncle did not have any bank accounts or anything together with this person from another country.  In fact she had her own separate bank account.  I researched the wedding officiants name on the marriage certificate, and learned that they went to a place where only 3 wedding officiants worked.  A small business that I will not name on here, but they were considered the wedding grannies of NY city.  With a reputation like that you would think they would know each other very well and know about each others family.  I contacted a woman named Mary, and she told me via phone and email she did not know nor did she ever heard of my Uncle.  She said she asked the other two wedding officiants about my uncle full name and dates of the marriage and everything, but I was told that nobody at there place of business had ever heard of my uncle and that he did not get married there and it may of been a SOUVENIR marriage.  I thanked Mary for looking into it, but still I was not satisfied, I called again and asked to speak to the person who claimed to be the wedding officiant, and she again told me she had no knowledge of my Uncle or his alledged wife ever coming in.  The wedding officiants name is Beth K. Lamont, she told me she had no records of anybody coming in on the date that I gave her etc.  At that time I was happy because I believed that the marriage did not happen.  Well, the alleged wifes attorney produces from the NY City Marriage bureu a marriage certificate that was filed by Beth K. Lamont.  I was shocked and still couldnt believe it.  I studied the Marriage certificate and I started to look at the witness signature on the certificate and I could tell it wasn’t signed by someone that was of legal age.  I have my own daughter and know a kids handwriting when I see one.  I tracked down the witness who lived in AZ, and was only 12 years old.   We hired a investigator in AZ to go to the house to get proof of age, and the mother signed a document that it was her 12 year old that was in the marriage and that she was 12 at the time of the marriage, but they put the marriage happen on a different day.  Not the day listed on the marriage certificate.    We took all these facts to the marriage bureau for NY City and the fact that it says you have to be 18 years of age to be a witness to a marriage is one of the requirements in NY city and we scream up and down that we believe and know this marriage was fruadulently started and nobody cared.   Beth K. Lamont, the marriage officiant, then sends something on behalf of the alleged wife to say that she does indeed remember my Uncle and his new wife coming to visit her and setting up the arrangements etc.  Only after the court proceedings started here in WA state, did the wedding officiant now remember who and what happen.  She also submitted an email that looked doctored.  You can tell someone was deleting or backspacing in the email to make it look like they wanted it to look.  Beth K. Lamont even admitted in her testimony that she did use a 12 year old.  The duties of a wedding officiant in NY state, say you need to check all I.D’s of all involved and to make sure all requirements are met.    Beth K Lamont we found out later has had other known issues with marriages in NY city, and in her sworn document she submitted, she was asked by my grandmothers lawyer what the age of the witness and the requirements are to get married in NY city and she ignored the questions and just said she solemnized the marriage.  This person who claimed to be the wife of my uncle who did not know anybody here, all of a sudden after my uncles death she has family and friends that live in Lynnwood WA now.   This alleged wife was involved in a hit and run accident in one of my uncles cars, she does not have a license, or insurance, and her lawyer and the person that was in charge of my uncles estate that was appointed by the court help cover up the hit and run accident when we provided proof that the alleged wife committed this crime, and she is trying to become a citizen of the united states her moral tirptitude was tarnished!  Yet again, nobody listened, we visited the immigration office a few times and gave information about the hit and run accident and we let immigration know about the fraudulent marriage that started off probably as a souvenir marriage but turned into  valid marriage.  Immigration officials claimed they  would look into it but after we left we knew nothing would come of it, because its been 2 years since my uncles passing.   My uncle kept all his important documetns in his house and on his computer, the alleged wife who had keys to my uncles house took all the hard drives out of the computers in my uncles house. Yes just the hard drives, not the whole computer but just the hard drives, also the family was close to my uncle we all knew he left everything to my grandmother his mom, and the will he had was in the house, but it mysteriously dissappeared after my uncles death.  My uncles house was ransacked and after we were let inside by the court appointed person, the only thing that was in the house was a stacks of papers of my uncles financial records that the wife and her goons went through.  We found out later that she put on her immigration paperwork that she didn’t know anybody in the United States, but after my uncles death, she has sisters and other family members that live in nearby cities also.   This marriage was a scam from the start, we believe possible that my uncle was not aware of it, or maybe he was, but we do know he stopped trying to get the alleged wife to become a citizen and after he stopped trying to help her he ended up dead.  All of a sudden also there are other people in NY city with the same name, and birth date of my now deceased uncle.  We had an investigator look into some information and found that there were about 3 or 4 other people by the same name as my uncle and same birth date that just happen to be in NY.   The marriage certificate looks fake, and the wedding officiants themselves told us they could not produce anything that shows my Uncle was even at there place of business.  They couldn’t produce how my uncle paid for the marriage.  Out of all the millions of tourist in NY city, my uncle picked a 12 year old to be a witness?  The fake email that Beth K. Lamont provided in court that she says was from my uncle, shows my uncle asking Beth K. Lamont to bring her husband to the wedding as a witness.  Beth K. Lamonts husband has been dead for over 20 years!   The marriage never occurred, if it did, it was sovenier marriage, and its all fraud, and after talking to people in the marriage bureau office I was told that they have had many many complaints about Beth K. Lamont, but they wouldnt go on record as to what those complaints are but after looking up info online I can tell that Beth K Lamont marries people and doesn’t care about rules or laws.  On top of all this, at the time of the marriage you have to have a wedding license to get married in the New York City park, they didnt have that, and the marriage officiant has to have a residence in the city of New York also, and the wedding officiant registered home was in Wenchester County NY.  Not even close to the the requirements.   The wedding officiant broke some many rules and laws to help this alleged wife, that now WA state is honoring this fraudently marriage, because my uncle is not here to say that he never wanted inteded to marry her.    I wouldnt feel this way if i could tell my uncle validated the marriage here in WA state with joint bank accounts,or even had her help him with the business that he owned.  Or introduced her to someone in the family.  But she popped up out of nowhere after his death, and not one bank statement or any other joint accounts financial or otherwise has ever been submitted.   There is more to this story, but this is just related to the marriage.  NY City police, Seattle PD, Renton PD, Snohomish County Sheriffs, ICE, immigration officials have all declined to help, and lets not get into the fact that my uncles death was mysterious and someone called the alleged wifes cell phone from my uncles cell phone AFTER the time of death but nobody cared to look into that.   My uncle ran a business he was on his cell phone constantly, yet there is about a 8 hour gap where the last call happen in the morning and someone calling the fake wife.  Again, this is just the tip of everything that has happen to my family, and my 85 year old grandmother.
